Applying for a Scholarship
Applications will open on January 19, 2026. Applications and all required documents are due March 12. Please read through this page for eligibility criteria and application requirements prior to applying for a scholarship.
Eligibility & Requirements
To be eligible to apply for a High School Healthcare Scholarship, applicants must:
- Be a graduating senior attending high school in Lake, Mineral, Missoula, or Ravalli County
- Have a minimum 3.0 GPA
- Plan to pursue a health-related career in one of the following fields:
- Medicine (human-focused only): Physician, Dentist, or other medical degrees
- Nursing: LPN, RN, Nurse Practitioner (NP), Physician Assistant (PA)
- Other human health-related fields, including but not limited to:
- Medical technology
- Radiology
- Clinical laboratory science
- Medical records
- Respiratory therapy
- Physical or occupational therapy
- Audiology
- Pharmacy
- Social work
- Clinical psychology
- Other health or technical healthcare roles
- Have applied or be in the process of applying to an accredited college, university, or post-secondary program
Applicants are required to submit:
- A completed application form
- Official transcripts, submitted directly by a school counselor or other authorized school personnel
- Two letters of recommendation, written, signed and submitted by individuals familiar with the applicant (e.g., teachers, employers) who can speak to academic potential and personal qualities
All materials must be submitted by the deadline for the application to be considered. Online submission is preferred. Selection & Presentation
Applications are reviewed by the Education Committee of our Board of Trustees. Recipients are selected based on consideration of academic record, quality of application with emphasis given to the student essay, and other considerations such as, but not limited to, financial need and background information.
Recipients will be notified by Community Health Alliance and are required to submit acceptance of the award within 10 days of notification. Recipients and their families are invited to accept their scholarship award at the Awards Ceremony in late spring.
Award Payment
Scholarship payments for the current season will be mailed directly to the college, university, or post‑secondary school indicated by the recipient by June 30. If an educational institution was not identified in the student’s award acceptance, or if there was a change in the institution chosen, the information must be provided to Community Health Alliance no later than June 15. The award may be applied to tuition, fees, and/or books.

Our scholarships are made possible by our generous donors, who help ensure caring and qualified health practitioners for our community and beyond. We invite your support at one of the following levels:
- Name a premier scholarship with a gift of $2,500
- Name a scholarship with a gift of $1,000
- Share a scholarship naming opportunity with a gift of $500 to $750
- Give a general scholarship gift of any size
- Endow a scholarship with a gift of $25,000 or more, depending on your goal for the scholarship award
